The Ordinary Squalane + Amino Acids Lip Balm 15ml

Just bought this today and my first impression is; it’s immediately hydrating and had a “cooling” effect. (My lips have been super crusty and dry the past couple of days no matter what I use.) This made my lips feel silky smooth after just one application!! Also super cute little bottle! :3 ♥️

Amazing! My household has been sick with head colds. This nifty little product has saved our lips from being terribly chapped and cracking. I cannot give this formula enough praise. Used on a daily basis, coupled with hyaluronic acid, has given my lips and mouth area its suppleness and softness back. Thank you so much for developing this formula!

Oh winter, you beast. Dry skin, dry hair, drier lips. Seeking a solution from the everyday balms that don't deliver. After a bit of deliberation, I opted to give this a go. And it's now become part of my evening cleansing ritual as a final step. Waking up to softer lips, and less cracking, pealing (OUCH!!) and over the weeks I've used it, the results speak (was that a lip pun?) for themselves. Adding this to my subscription order so I never run out, and planning of making gifts of it too for friends with the same problem.

I live in a very dry climate, and love wearing matte lipsticks, so I’m serious about my lip hydration. \n\nI’m obsessed with this lip balm. It’s hydrating without leaving my lips greasy. I’ve seen a lot of people mention having to reapply, and imo it’s because we’re used to feeling gloss on our lips for a long time whereas this one “soaks in” more. Apply at night & wake up with satin feeling lips. It’s great as a part of my morning routine before applying lipstick. 10/10

I ordered this balm, along with several other products, just because why not. However, I came back to encourage anyone on the fence about it to try it out. This winter has been very dry, and other lip balms work, but not like this one. I got my order last night and applied this product before bed, and I woke up with silky, soft lips with one application. It feels very nice on the lips, too.

This is the most hydrating and protective lip balm I’ve ever found- and I’ve tried many expensive brands. This one left my lips soft plump and faded vertical lines.

First time opening it out if the box, the applicator tip came off and was stuck in the lid. It was easy to pry out and reattach, but every time I have removed the lid since, it has come out a little and I've had to push it back down. I don't love that the container comes apart so easily. Overall, the packaging is cute, but it seems like there's a great potential for a lot of wasted product because of the shape. As for the actual product, I'm undecided. I'll have to see how hydrating it is over time. It's melty/oily at first, but it dries down relatively quickly compared to a conventional balm. My initial impression is that it won't replace my current favorite glossy balms that I usually wear throughout the day, but it might be a good extra source of hydration.

Love the product, but hate the packaging. So much is wasted due to the hard circular packaging. I know there is more in there, but you can’t squeeze it up

Love the formula of the balm for lips, hands and cuticles and even dry spots. It’s very hard to open and when it opened the cap with the application tip came off and a lot of the product was wasted just oozed out. Can’t upload pictures

I've tried so hard to love this, but I just can't. It's so thin that I feel like I'm just putting water on my lips. Not hydrating at all. Packaging looks cool though.

I am always looking for a good chapstick that actually leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturized. I also prefer lip products with squalane since I usually have good results with that. I have been wearingthis lip balm under my lipgloss or lipstick and applying it before bed. The packaging itself is super unique and small enough to fit in your pocket or purse. It leaves my lips feeling super smooth. It has a very moisturizing feel to it that is sort of oily but in a good way. Honestly, my lips have not been chapped at all and have been feeling way healthier since I have started using it. I definitely plan on getting more of these! Offered by theordinary.

Iam very fan of ordinary product but Iam a little disappointed!! This makes my lips very dry - seems like the formula is off. \n\nIf you’re looking for a deeply hydrating lip balm this is not the one. It literally just sits on your cracked lips and dries up in 10 minutes.

ORDINARY SQUALANE + AMINO ACIDS LIP BALM. \nThis is a multi-use hydration balm that moisturizes the lips, but it can be used to soften other areas such as elbows and cuticles. I don't feel comfortable applying it on my elbows, or cuticles, even though it’s made for that, I prefer just to use it on my lips. I love the texture, it’s very light, and very soft. almost like a light vaseline but softer and not that thick. I like that, because it’s not as heavy as other lip balms that are in the market. It’s a cruelty free product You can use it in the morning and at night It has a limited time of 6 months after opening. I love the packaging, it’s so original.

I opened this product a few months after purchase. At first, it was ok. It's not very moisturizing, but I figured I could use it on my cuticles or smtg since the ingredients look quite good. However, after the summer heat set in, granules formed in it, and no matter how much I rub, it would not go away. Since it's white, it does look obvious. \n\nI don't recommend buying this. Plain Aquaphor is so much better and cheaper.

I was so happy when Ordinary released their first product for lips. I have been an Ordinary fan for the last 5 years or so and have recommended their products to countless friends and family members dealing with a variety of skin issues so I expect nothing but great quality from their products. This lip balm does a decent job of hydrating your lips but for a short term only, it requires multiple re-applications as my lips started feeling dry within 30-45 mins of applying it. Compared to regular vaseline that I am used to applying on my lips this did not provide sufficient moisture or protection, especially during dry winter months so I saved it for summer time. It is okay to use during the humid summer months as long as it is used indoors, where there is no sun, as it does not have SPF. Overall I am not impressed by this product and probably would not recommend it or buy it again.

I purchased this on a whim. I'm glad I did. I have used so many different lip products and nothing has ever gotten my lips to be hydrated as well as this. In the winter, I battle chapped lips with every other lip treatment/balm. But this one..... I will be purchasing this for as long as it's available!! I like that there isn't any smell, taste or stickiness. I can add that on top with another product I like (which are very few when if comes to smell/taste) The downside packaging. All thought the packaging is cut, it isn't practical for all. The week I received this, I had a minor arthritis flare up in my hands. I could not grip or twist off the lid myself. Once my strength returned, no problems. I will likely put the product into a little tub for easier use. 4 stars due to packaging and not product itself.

Okay product but poor packaging. It feels okay on the lips and dried down leaving the lips moisturized but not sticky or glossy. I like the glossy look but this is nice if you just want moisture with your hair getting stuck on gloss lol. I look forward to seeing how it works on cuticles as other suggested.\nAlthough the packaging is cute, it is not accessible for many people. I have weakness in my fingers and hands due to EDS and I am not able to open the cap by myself at all :( Fortunately, I bought it during a promotion and it came with a free key chain that attaches to the cap. I've found that I can leverage the ring of the key chain to open the cap super easily. I'm hoping this does not cause the ring to snap off the cap in the future. I really love the ordinary products but much of their packaging is not accessible. This is definitely the worst one though.

obsessed with this balm! The applicator is amazing—it literally glides on so smoothly. It's perfect for daily use because it isn’t overbearing like some lip glosses can be. Plus, there's no flavor, which I really appreciate because I don’t want to taste my balm when I’m eating.\n\nEven my husband likes using it because it’s not shiny or glossy, making it great for everyone. The best part? It's multi-functional. I’ve used it on my hands, and it felt just like a real lotion! It makes total sense to use it on the body, too. I love this multi-functional lip balm! At first I questioned how much it was really helping, but then after applying it a few times within a short period of time, it started to work. My lips were just really dehydrated, if you're having issues with the product on your lips consider that you might have the same issues with dehydrated lips like I do. So maybe you might need to apply a thick layer once or twice to get your lips up to snuff, then you'll find you don't need to reapply very often. The balm also works wonderfully as a cuticle moisturizer! Would highly recommend you try this product, especially given the price point! What do you have to loose?

I received this product this week, and I like that it’s completely unscented and tasteless, which is great for those sensitive to fragrances. The texture is wonderfully silky and feels moisturizing on the lips, though I’m not sure how long it lasts throughout the day.\n\nMy main issue, however, is with the packaging. The cap is round and smooth, making it quite difficult to open—especially if you have any moisturizing product on your hands. This design isn’t inclusive of people with fine motor skill challenges, limited hand mobility, or other disabilities. It’s surprising that in 2024, The Ordinary hasn’t considered a more accessible packaging design. I hope they take this feedback into account for future releases! Especially since I've seen reviews mention other packaging issues, like the tip getting stuck in the cap, so there's clearly room for improvement.

Was excited to try this as I’m always on the hunt for a really moisturising lip balm. The test for me is to put it on just before I go to sleep and then see if it’s still there when I wake in the morning. This passes my test with flying colours - I woke up with soft moisturised lips which makes a great foundation for wearing lipstick or just having soft comfortable lips with no dryness or flaking. I like the ergonomically-designed container which has a very natural hand-feel and its squeeze and twist cap together with the doe-style tip which allows you to apply direct to the lips but in a controlled way so that you don’t squeeze out too much product. I also use the balm on my cuticles last thing at night and they look so much better for it. I have already bought more - handbag, desk, car …
