This is my second time purchasing this item as it has made a great impact in my regimen. I use this product as a mid day hydration boost or post chemical exfoliant. It’s been a game changer! I am 10 years into my skincare journey and would consider myself an advanced user. I am 30 years old but would have introduced this to my routine long ago!

It is a nightmare to find products that work for my skin because 1. it's so fussy to ingredients 2. it's hard to find something that addresses all my skin types/issues which are: dehydrated, combo leaning oily, easily congested , acne prone, sensitive and hyper pigmentation. \r\n\r\nFor some reason hyaloronic scid just never really worked for me, in fact it felt like it was absorbing all the water from my skin rather than than the environment and products and my skin would just look dull and dry. Having used this serum I have seen major changes, it seems to help to retain hydration and re my skin barrier as my acne scars that I've had for months a slowly fade away. I know it's this serum because it's the only thing I've changed in my routine.

I think I have already used 6 bottles of this serum and I never want to be without it. It provides outstanding hydration in every season without adding texture or greasiness, in fact it's undetectable but very much effective. I mix it with the Aminoacids B5 serum plus/or the Multipeptide or the Matrixyl 3000 +HA and then I seal it with a drop of moisturizer and a good layer of sunscreen ( Beauty Of Joseon). New England winters are a piece of cake now! For the summer I just pair it with a few drops of Aminoacids B5 and a very healthy dose of waterproof sunscreen. I'm 61 and I'm pretty happy with the way my skin looks.

My skin has changed so drastically from how it was before... I have OILY skin and used to suffer so much to random pimple breakouts and the remnant scarring from the pimples were difficult to cope with... And with my oily skin, I couldn't take oils and heavy creams so once I started on just Marine Hyaluronics in the morning as a base before my make up and only Niacinamide at night after washing my face, my skin has done a complete 180 within just 1-2 months.. The scars have faded so much and my skin feels healthy to not have pimple outbreaks anymore. Once again, such a life saver and totally worth every single penny! :)

I found this product was a little much for me on my face in summer if I was using another moisturizer (though I still have oily skin most places in my mid 40's). So I started using it only on my lips after cleansing, and then using a moisturizer and greasier protectant on them afterwards. If my lips are very chapped and dry, the marine hyraluronics immediately makes them more like normal skin. I do need other stuff on top to create more of barrier afterwards, though. I am ordering again just for my lips alone. Product is quite liquid with slight gel like consistency, so only 1-2 drops are needed. Doesn't really smell like anything.

I can't say how this works alone because I always use serums and lotion after, but it really works well!\r\nI don't like hyaluronic acid, it just doesn't work well on me and makes my face feel dry and tight. \r\nI use a pretty drying face wash (Olay Deep Gel Cleaner with Tea Tree oil) so I need some instant hydration. I use this first, followed by Amino Acid + B5 with 2 drops of Pycnogenol, then facial lotion. Glycolic Acid 3x a week. Works great!\r\nI'm 42 and my skin has never looked better! This is a great alternative to HA, and has no interactions. Goes on like water, doesn't irritate skin, and is wonderful as a base for other serums! \r\nWorth giving it a shot!

Ya'll, I am not exaggerating when I say this serum transformed my skin, and I've been very into skincare for more than a decade trying all sorts of products, k-beauty/asian skincare, high end, etc. Hyaluronic products irritate my skin as I live in a drier climate and have sensitive skin, but this gives me the softest, plumpest, and most glowy texture I've ever had, and you only need a few drops on damp skin. \r\n\r\nSidenote, I found this product after researching what ingredients made La Mer skincare products special compared to its dupes, and it's the seaweed:) So seriously give this a try. I won't gatekeep even though it's tempting..

I love this product! I use it at night after my double cleanse and toner steps. I find the dropper a bit ill clumsy for such a watery solution so, I transfered the dropper contents to a 60 ml mist bottle - perfect! I mist my face with product, pat, wait 3-4 min, then mist again. I'll do this 2 or 3 times to saturate my skin before continuing my evening routine. My skin looks and feels wonderfully hydrated and healthy.

I will forever use this product - it is my holy grail. It is night and day noticeable when I run out or forget to pack this serum, my face just feels tight. It goes on like water so you'll never feel it under products, I can't explain it, it's amazing. I BEG YOU to please make a bigger bottle of this, or provide refills in different packaging. I feel so wasteful accumulating so many dropper bottles. LOVE the product, please provide larger packaging options.

I like this better than the regular Hyaluronic 2%+B5 but since it doesn't come in a larger size I don't buy it often. It works for me to use a bit after washing then to layer over it a moisturizing lotion or light oil. Especially on skin dried out from swimming, etc.. But since it is such a small bottle it seems silly to use it, for example, on my neck, chest, or arms and run out of it all the time. \r\n It's bad enough that the large tub of Hyaluronic acid gel was discontinued even though it sold very well (many times it was sold out). \r\n So 4 stars but only because the bottle is too small - not sure if I'd recommend this unless someone wanted to only use it on their face.

I’ve been using the Marine Hyaluronics Serum for a few weeks now, and I am absolutely thrilled with what it’s doing to my skin. Previously, I was using the Hyaluronic Acid serum but it just doesn’t play well with my skin and other products (it pills so easily ugh)\r\n\r\nThis on the other hand, feels like a burst of hydration from the depths of the ocean, and my skin drinks it up eagerly. \r\n\r\nSince I started using it, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my skin’s overall hydration levels. It looks plump, radiant, and feels incredibly smooth to the touch.\r\n\r\nOverall, the Marine Hyaluronics Serum is a game-changer for me. It delivers on its promise of intense hydration, and I’ve seen a noticeable improvement in the suppleness and overall health of my skin. It’s an affordable gem that has earned a permanent spot in my skincare routine

I bought this a few weeks ago. The formula is very watery and hard to apply to my face.

I bought the product on April 29th and retuned it on May 2nd. It was the only new product that added to my regimen and I immediately got multiple breakouts on my chin. I could feel them forming as the day went on. Not sure why my face reacted the way that it did, when everyone I know of had good luck with it. And besides that it did make my sensitive and dry face feel good. Just with breakouts. Face improved the minute I stopped 😞 \r\nI would recommend to others. Just not right for my skin.

I have such mixed feelings about this product because on one hand, I like it a lot, but on the other hand, it is exponentially overpriced for what it is. It is very watery and serves as a lightly hydrating toner in my routine, and it works well as such. But it's marketed as a serum, and it does not come anywhere close to fulfilling that function for me. I wish TO would package this exact product in 120-150 ml bottle and sell it as a $10 toner. Because alas, while I like this product, $10 for what is essentially an overpriced toner mini is not worth it to me.

I'm an avid online shopper and I never leave reviews. This is an ABSOLUTE STAPLE in my routine. Even adding a drop or two to my moisturizer helps significantly. My skin gets dry + dehydrated easily, and the texture of most hyaluronic acid serums is too sticky for me. Not this! It IS runny, you have to watch it while applying to make sure it gets to your intended destination. But, this has been a hydrating solution for me in all seasons/weather, and because my skin is actually getting (& absorbing) proper hydration, I have much less sensitivity overall and significant reduction in dry, fine lines. It's one of the items I never want to run out of! I've also popped this into my hydrating mists to make them... actually hydrating. It's truly a game changer. I recommend this to everyone who suffers from dry skin/irritation prone-dehydrated skin.

First off, I love The Ordinary and most of the formulations that I've tried. Having previously used the Hyaluronic + B5 serum and also the Hylamide brand hyaluronic, I thought I'd try this version as it offered a lightweight alternative. Does it do what it's intended to? Yes. It's an effective hydrator and it's certainly lightweight and absorbs very easily. BUT...like many of the other reviewers here, for me the smell is really off-putting and stops me re-ordering more. It has a very faint whiff of vomit. It's not over powering and yes you stop noticing it after a short while but perhaps others could notice it to, and do I really want to smell of sick? It this could be reformulated then perhaps I'd use again but until then I'd personally opt for the ordinary Hyaluronic + B5 (which incidentally I preferred over the more expensive Hylamide version.

I just recently bought this product and I'm in love with how lightweight it is. And I only tried it twice but really liked the way my skin feels. Also, I saw many comments complaining about the smell of the product and I'm not sure if it varies from batch to batch but I can't really smell anything in mine which is great! I was wondering if I could use this product as my only moisturiser or if I still need to apply moisturiser on top of it. I have oily skin so i'm worried it'll end up being too much hidration. Also, should I apply it before or after the Niacinamide serum? Thanks and keep up the great work! DECIEM Response: We're so happy that you are loving The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics! You may wish to apply The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics first followed by The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. Moisturizer is optional! ❤

I've been using this product as a daily moisturizer up to 2x a day (~5 drops) for about 10 months now. I got it initially to mix in with a seaweed clay mask I have, but I really like it as a daily use thing (and I rarely use that mask anymore anyway). I'm on my second bottle of it. I still find that it tingles/stings for a few seconds, maybe once or twice a week. I don't notice any smell (but I also don't mind seaweed smell). I notice that if I miss an area (usually around my chin/jawline) I'm more prone to acne in that area over the next day or so. I had been using a cream moisturizer, but felt like it was clogging my pores, and I really like the lightweight texture of this, even though it can be a little awkward to apply sometimes. DECIEM Response: We're happy to hear you're enjoying The Ordinary Marine Hyaluronics. Thank you for your review! ❤

I have combination/oily skin which leans toward dehydrated in the winter months (oily and dehydrated is a thing ya'll and it sucks) which can be irritated and tight. I had previously used the HA 2% + B5 which I wanted to love but it was much too thick for my skin type. I was very excited to try this seeing as I love marine based products and I know how awesome they are for our skin. I adore the thin, water-like texture! I apply it after my toner and press it into my skin with my hands before any thicker serums or essences. I do not get any sort of odd smell from this as others have mentioned. I have been using it for about 1 week and I have not experienced any breakouts or irritations. This product integrates very well into my regimen and I must say that I enjoy the plump it gives my skin.

I've used hyaluronic acid but was intrguided by Marine Hyaluronics because of the reviews saying this smelled like everything from hot dogs to sour to milk to vegan cheese. I have a very, very sensitive sense of smell but my curiosity got the best of me. So, first and foremost - the smell is a little strange, but it seriously disappears almost instantly. Hot dogs is probably the most accurate smell from what I can tell. The actual liquid is incredibly light (watery) and sinks into my sink instantly, which is a nice change from most HAs but it's easy to use way too much. I use it immediately after washing my face, and I think it has been really helpful at fighting the dry skin caused by Retin-A. If the smell is the only thing keeping you from trying this, put it in your basket now :)

This is a really nice light-weight alternative to other hyaluronic acid serums. The ingredients are of the upmost quality, it absorbs beautifully into the skin, and it definitely does help with hydration. From someone who's acne-prone I would definitely recommend it. For those saying it smells, I'd rather have it smell and be free of fragrances and do its job as opposed to being heavily perfumed and irritating to the skin. You get over the smell. If you look at the ingredients (you should before buying any skincare products) you would expect for it to have a bit of an odor. It goes away after a bit. If it bothers you that much then just use it at night before you go to sleep. If a product is this good I'm willing to work with the smell, and this product is fantastic!

EJG5 years ago

I've never liked serums based on HA, anything above 0.3% (I used to make my own) is too much. So, I've been waiting for this one and it's the perfect texture and perfect amount of hydration to go on under my sunscreen.\n\n My skin is hyper hypersensitive. I have to dilute even the gentlest actives with oil or water. When the serum arrived my skin was irritated (from stupidly not diluting my antioxidants one day only) so I patch-tested tentatively. No irritation at all, in fact one of the most soothing things I can remember using and it's continued like that for 5 days. I will add the TO antioxidants (diluted) and matrixyl (diluted) back in once it's safe to come out again.\n\n Obviously, I can't vouch for any long term improvements yet, but if you hate viscous hydrators and/or have sensitive skin you might like to give this a go.

I had to give this product a 10/10 since others are giving it a terrible rating only because of the smell. You love the product but you give it a 2/10 bc you don't like the smell? Skincare isn't supposed to smell good! While I think it's important for skincare to have an elegant formulation, the benefits it provides to skin are more important. Please DONT change the formulation because of ignorant people who think marine derived ingredients should smell good. There are other HA products they can use instead. If you're really that dramatic that you put tissues up your nose and scrub your hands, then I don't recommend this product for you. However, if your skin is dramatic, then I do recommend this product to you. I love mixing it with the thicker HA + B5 formulation.
