The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% 30ml

I have been using this product since 2017 and simply does not compare with any other product at its price point and effectiveness. Apply to clean but very slightly damp face and only use a pea sized amount for the entire face, a little goes a long way. This is my holy grail, I see a visible difference as well as a textural difference if I go a few days without using this product. With consistent use, I have no hyperpigmentation and not as prone to developing it as previously. This is one of two active products I use in my routine. I alternate this with tretionoin for the best results. Only use it at bedtime given the greasy texture.

It takes a bit of getting used to, due to the texture, but wow- the results are worth it ! Skin has a soft glow - i\nUse in the morning with block out - at night the retinoid with copper peptide - i am 51’and constantly complimented on my skin

For how cheap this product is, it’s a great source of vit C. I’ve used it for ~2 years and built up tolerance over time (once a week, then every 5 days, every 3 days, etc, now my skin tolerates it easily) and had no issues. The product texture is definitely al dente, but that was expected based on reviews. Grittiness disappears within minutes but face still feels like it has something on it, it’s like an overnight treatment. And when I wake up my skin feels moisturised and plump. My skin has a fair bit of glow but this is likely due to using Vit C consistently for years, this product is just a cost effective way to get plenty of vit C into your skin. Consider having a milder vit C serum to alternate this suspension with for the first half a year or so.

It’s awful! The okd formula was so fantastic and this one is so awful I don’t understand! It’s grainy, doesn’t absorb into skin, feels greasy, just really really awful

This is actually an amazing product. Lots of people are complaining that its rough or stingy - well, yes, you have to slowly build yourself up with this stuff. Vitamin C reacts with sunscreen in the best way, and I like to mix it with a nice moisturizer or sunscreen, mix it with my finger tips and place it on my face. I have no issues. Also, if its burning, you're not used to the concentration or you've exfoliated so much you're raw, and of course it's going to burn and sting. But if you're looking for results, this is it! A little goes a long way

Honestly I am not a fan of this formula’s texture. But… i can simply say wow!!! My routine starts with glycolic acid toner, HA +B5 and this vit C suspension cream, next day i substitute HA+B5 with retinoid and keeps rotating. I started this routine right before Christmas, so it hasn’t been a month yet. Everyday i wake up i am surprised to see how my skin literally shines when i check myself in the mirror after a face wash. I love love love this new look of my skin so much and i think this cream is the key to my everyday’s routine. My skin never looks more healthy, smooth and radiant. Thank you!! When I first bought this product I didn’t totally understand it because of texture and my skin’s reaction to it. Then I tried few different stable vitamin C products and found them much less efficient. Though my skin wasn’t irritated I expected to see at least some result close to The Ordinary’s vit C, but it wasn’t reached. Few months ago I re bought The Ordinary’s vit C suspension and it looks like they slightly changed the formula, now you can’t feel those particles inside. Plus I find here some advice to mix it with a plain cream before applying and it definitely works for me! Now I can use this product, it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and I see great results, plus a little goes a long way!

Not sure how ppl can stand the smell of this product it’s very gross, but I guess dissipates quickly after being rubbed in. I haven’t used it long enough to tell a difference, I know the other vitamin C cream made a noticeable difference in an age spot I have so I’m hoping to see similar progress with this. Just wanted to note the smell.

Its oily and makes me breakout on the cheeks, been using it for 4 months now I decided to stop using and my skin is recovering now. Using this to brighten my complexion and it did help with that, yet my dark under eyes are still there. DECIEM Response: Thank you so much for your review. I really wanted to love this – I bought it over a month ago and had high hopes. Sadly, it’s been a bit of a crusty experience. I've only managed to use it a handful of times because the texture is… odd. The liquid part just kind of sits on top of my skin, while the powdery bits cling to my fingers like they’ve found their forever home.\n\nI'm not entirely convinced any of the “active” ingredients are actually making it to my face – it feels more like a missed connection than a skincare moment.\n\nIt’s a real shame, because I’ve had great results with other products from this brand. They’ve been brilliant at keeping my skin hydrated – which is my number one goal. This one just didn’t hit the mark.\n\nHere’s hoping the formula gets a bit of a revamp – I’d love to give it another go if it ever gets a glow-up of its own!

Very interesting formula, and I like it :) for the first few seconds when you apply it and start working it into your skin, it feels the slightest bit gritty but then mellows out into a smoother texture. A pea-sized amount works for the entire face and neck, and I've noticed my skin has been brighter and smoother since using it :) My skin did experience a little bit of irritation as it got used to the formula, and after using it for a few weeks, the irritation has subsided.\r\nThe only strange thing about this product I will note (and why I didn't give this 5 stars) is the morning after I use this, my hands smell like apples? I'm guessing this has to do with how the vitamin C reacts with the skin on my hands, and I don't necessarily mind it. Just thought I'd mention it unless anyone is adverse to strange smells.

I have read mixed reviews on this. Several said they were bothered by the gritty residue left on skin. I do agree there is a residue but am not bothered by it at all. I don't always wear makeup & when I do, I don't wear much, so that may be part of the reason I am not bothered by this. My skin feels hydrated & bright when I use this. And this may sound odd but it actually tastes good to me too (and no, I do not purposely ever try to get it near/in my mouth). This is actually one of my top two favorite products of everything I use. The other is a particular hyaluronic acid I buy elsewhere. Wish I could use The Ordinary's but like many of their products it uses phenoxyethanol. It's harmless but I seem to be allergic to it. Just grateful it is not in all of their products so there are still many I can use. I love this Vitamin C serum.

I like this product, but I went into it knowing that it would feel gritty upon application. I use at night only. I am trying to fade sun/age spots that have developed over the years. I feel like the spots are fading, but it could just be wishful thinking. I have been applying the Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA over the top, but I don't know if this diminishes the effectiveness. Also, I recommend applying any eye serums before the use of this product. If not, there is a good chance it will get into your eye area even if applied with care, and it can sting. I do experience some burning effect, but no irritation and the side effect is lessened with time and moisturizer. Which is why I worry that the effect is minimized when I use the moisturizer. I plan to use the entire bottle and then make my decision as to if it has worked and whether I will order more.

Best vitamin C supplement ever. I actually use this in the morning and combine it with another antioxidant from TO called Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid to make a superior antioxidant complex. This ensures that I get brightening and antioxidant effects which also helps TO mineral UV filter sunscreens (which also has antioxidants, peptides, humectants and lipids). This ensures that in the day time I am well protected from UVA/UVB rays and reactive oxidative species (ROS). This ensures that I'm preventing damage before they occur. Highly recommend and it's honestly so affordable which I love. The tingling is expected during say the first two weeks but I've been using this for 2 years now and I don't notice the stinging anymore. When you first rub it into your skin you do feel heat though (that's normal) and it will go away. The oily like consistency is temporary.

Incredible formula! Yes, it does have a slightly gritty feel, as mentioned in the description. However, unless you over-apply, as I did when using it for the first time, it should absorb quickly, and not flake off or ball up. This serum also performs wonderfully under makeup. My skin is sensitivr and breaks out easily, yet I experienced no adverse effects with this serum. If anything, I'd say that it has greatly improved my skin.Here's how I apply The Ordinary's Vitaminc C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%: squeeze literally a pea-sized amount into my hand, and warm it up between my palms. Gently press it all overy face to warm it up even further and dissolve the Vitamin C, and THEN rub it into my skin. Squeeze out another pea-sized drop and repeat the process with my neck and chest. Afterward, I'd apply my usual SPF and makeup. That's it! I plan on using this for the rest of my life.

I know this product has amazing reviews so i decided to up my vitamin C strength. Been using the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F for the past few years. The Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% definitely made my skin tingle, and then i would get red blotches all over my face and neck that would last for about 30 minutes and then subside. It didnt really bother me, until i noticed my skin in general was really getting thrown off from it so i had to stop. I was getting discolorations and breaking out, and the overall texture was kinda red and bumpy. Perhaps the strength was too strong? Should i go back to the other formula or is there something else you would recommend? thanks

I've been using this for about 3 weeks, it has evened & brightened my skin tone, but given me very noticeable blackheads. I've read that this can happen with Vitamin C. I am so impressed with this product, it has literally saved my skin in less than a week. Recently my face got severely sunburned and hyperpigmented from photosensivity caused by medical problems. For weeks my face kept flaring up on and off and getting irritated and nothing would help. I tried the Vitamin C Suspension with vitamin E oil at night and washed it off in the morning, using just moisturizer the next day. In 3-4 days most of my redness, irritation and dark hyperpigmentation were gone and the rashes have stopped. The burning sensation is strong, even though it doesn't irritate my skin. When I mix with vitamin e it helps a lot, it just tingles and gets rid of the grittiness. It's not sticky, but kind of dry. I can get it to mix with moisturizer and night cream but it feels a little heavy, like a layer/film on your so I just use it in the PM. Overall fantastic product!

Only been using this product for a week or so, but already my face feels so much softer and smoother! Note, my skin has been clear of acne for a few months. The first night I applied it, I woke up with a major breakout in my usual areas: chin, cheeks, and one spot on my forehead. I knew there would be a purging period, as I've had with all The Ordinary products I've tried. It cleared up by the 3rd day and obviously I haven't been using this long enough to notice serious changes, but I can't lie and say I don't already feel a difference. I LOVE this. I love this product so Much !! The first time I use it I didn’t like the sensation. But with time I have known I to handle it and Omg it’s light and bright my skin like yeahh . I have acne and this product help me. I just want to ask if I can use at the same time Azelaic Acid because they’re both my two favorites products of the brand and want to if I can use it together of if I have to do 2 day with vitamine C and other day with A Acid. Yes, it feels a little bit gritty but the results on my skin are absolutely awesome. After three weeks of use my pimples disappeared and my skintone is much fresher and cleaner.
