The Ordinary Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% Vitamin C Serum 30ml

I'm on my second bottle of this and will continue to purchase. I love that it's a watery consistency and not an oil. I'm 62 and still have combo/oily skin so more oil is the last thing I need or want. Since using this on a regular basis under my daily SPF, I've noticed some hyperpigmentation that's fading very well! My skin is clearer and I've just been more impressed with it lately! I'm using this in conjunction with the Multi-Antioxidant Radiance serum and I've been blown away.

Everytime I run out and want to reorder what I want is either out of stock or discontinued. Time to research other product lines. I don’t mind paying more for accessibility.

Purchase 2 bottles. Open 1st bottle and the serum was a brown color with dark brown specks inside the bottle. Open the second bottle and it was the same. Is this the normal color?

I’ve been using this product for about 6 weeks now. I wasn’t big on my skincare routine before, just a cleanser and moisturiser. Now I have a full routine in place with The Ordinary and I wouldn’t go back. I’ve seen a huge difference in my skin and other people have commented too. This has made my skin so much brighter and has really evened out my tone. Between this and the other products in my regime, my complexion is clear, my skin is brighter and it feels fully moisturised. I haven’t worn a bit of make up in 4 weeks and I previously never left the house without it.

I used to buy this product from 2019 where it was only around $7 the fact that it’s now almost $20 is crazy to me. This is the only thing that helps my skin and this company has been taking advantage of increasing their pricing every few months. It’s honestly embarrassing and I love this brand but you guys no longer portray affordable skincare.

The product itself seems to work well for my skin (Dry-sensitive), leaving it smooth and glassy, which a reduction in the appearance of sunspots. HOWEVER, be careful using this at night/bed time. It has left black bleach marks all over my white pillowcases and sheets from it rubbing off my face onto the fabric. I can confirm this also happened to another pair of sheets at a hotel I was staying at, where I was using the product.

I bought this product a few months ago after switching from the 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder. I switched to the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% as it is an indirect Vitamin C product which allowed me to combine it with a lot of other products. I have definitely noticed my skin becoming clearer in terms of texture and become more radiant, less dull. I will continue to use this product. If you have oily or normal skin, I would recommend this product. If you have dry skin like my fiance, I would recommend the Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F. Please remember you can't use this with Niacinamide products.

This stuff is incredible. Been using it for a few months and I’ve seen a big difference. I’ve always had dark circles and they are actually lightening for the first time in my life. It’s wild.\r\nAnd I know vitamin C doesn’t claim to reduce blackheads but after I started using this serum, my blackheads have looked better than ever before. Most of them are gone and the ones that are visible are so much lighter. It’s amazing. And my skin just feels soft and brand new. It’s the best product in my whole skincare regimen.

The product gives an instant glow thanks to a layer of shine. I don't know how to describe it, so I put a picture of my hand, where you can see the edges of the product. The product ist completely dry on the picture! I really like the shine even though I feel like it gets lost after I apply my moisturizer. \r\nAnyhow the layer might feel odd to some. Personally I don't mind it and the feeling also goes away after applying moisturizer

This product does wonders for the skin. I’ve been pairing this with a Niacinamide serum for the last year and a half and have seen wonderful changes in my face. The main thing i’ve noticed is that a lot of the hyperpigmentation and scars that I had in the past have faded and are barely noticeable now. I also have very sensitive skin and am prone to breakouts, but this solution is very gentle and paired with the niacinamide, has actually helped reduce my acne in general. One thing to note, as with any skincare product, it takes TIME for things to start working and for your skin to start changing on the surface. I truly believe this is a phenomenal product for the price and will continue to use and recommend!

I am disappointed. It really does not do anything to my skin. I was expecting to be brighter or more glowing or just better looking but honestly, it just does not do the job for my skin. I've started to use it only recently - a week ago - however I feel like I can't continue as the texture is extremely sticky and it would leave a mask-like layer on the skin, making it funny to smile and do any other face expression. I have generally had excellent luck with The Ordinary's active products (lactic acid 10% and granactive retinoid 2%) and this is no exception. I have skin that borders on sensitive and doesn't always play will with pure l-ascorbic acid serums. I have previously used other Vitamin C derivatives such as sodium ascorbyl phosphate, with okay results, but with this I have finally found my perfect Vitamin C serum. It has evened out my skin tone and really helped with fading dark spots from maskne. The glow is also amazing and I love layering this under my sunscreen to give it a boost. It also feels cosmetically elegant and non-sticky. Absolutely loving it and will definitely repurchase!

The serum is a little bit sticky, absorbs veeeery guickly - it can be problematic in aplication somethimes but I learned how to work with it. I think it helped my with post inflammatory pigmentation (but not with dark circles under eyes) and with wrinkles.

This is the very first vitamin C product I purchased and I'm really happy about the results so far! It's super gentle (my skin does not sting or anything). I definitely see a generally more even skin complexion and it has reduced a lot of acne scars. The only thing is that I do feel like my skin is a little dryer/tighter and I the hyaluronic acid with it, which surprised me. But once I apply my lotion and sun lotion it's all good.Question: Is it safe to use a non-comedogenic oil, (I love hemp oil) after the serums (this vitamin C + the hyaluronic acid + the under eye caffeine)? I love to use a gua sha for circulation and face lifting but the serums are absorbed way to quickly to use it.

I am very low maintenance with my skincare but have benefited from a Vit C derivative, I do find I'm lovely and bright looking afterwards but I'm really not keen on the texture afterwards, it's quite tacky and taut, so great if you want that skin-tightening feel but it's not my favourite texture, I feel maybe a moisturiser like HA could be added in the formula... May start doing this myself tbh. But overall not a bad buy, just be aware if you have sensory icks & aversions.

I've been using this for about a year and was pretty pleased with the results until I started a new bottle. I've spent the past year building up how often I apply it, from once a week all the way to 5 times a week and it's just not comfortable any more. I have extremely dry skin and ever since I started the new bottle a week ago my skin has felt dry, itchy and tight. Maybe the ingredients have changed? Or the manufacturing process? Whatever it is I'm hesitant to keep using it. I'm going back to once a week and will see what happens.

I had such good results with the Vitamin C powder from The Ordinary that I didn't think anything could top it. After a year of constant use (along with daily use of the Mineral Factors and twice weekly application of the AHA peeling solution), my skin was so bright, so clear and any old hyperpigmentation either faded completely or just looks like a barely discernible freckle.\r\nI decided to try this however, because I wanted something I didn't need to mix with another product and...BOOM! I am blown away. After just 2 weeks of using every other day, my skin is even brighter, which I would not have thought possible. I am sold. Holy crap this stuff is amazing! I have been using a few The Ordinary products for a few months (niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, resveratol, retinol, and moisturizing factor) and my skin has been much better- fewer breakout and less oily, and the breakouts I do get heal quickly. But once I added this product into my routine, my skin looks better than it has since before puberty! My skin isn’t covered in tiny bumps, it’s bright and youthful, and it has faded some stubborn acne pigmentation. And this has all happened in less than a month of use. I get no stinging or tingling, I use it in the morning with HA, resveratrol, and moisturizing factor. In the evening I use the niacinamide instead of this and add in the retinol serum.

Skincare serums and creams act differently to different skin type. I tried couple of Vitamin C from Deciem and they were making my skin dry (like orange peel) or gray tinge after applying. (Im a south Asian with wheatish complexion) I was suggested to use Ascorbyl G 12% by one of the beauty consultant at Deciem and i tried. It has been 6 months since im using and im on my 2nd bottle. It takes time to show results but it is worth its try. I am very happy with the results. My skin looks very healthy. It could be a combination of all but this definetely going to be in my routine. I'm loving it so far!!! Very light, easily absorbale (especially if my skin is still wet).I use it in the morning, after cleaning my face, before moisturizing.My question is: Should I wait a few minutes before putting on the moisturizer(emulsion) ? Or should I apply the latter directly after the Ascorbyl Glucoside? If I could give this product 100 stars, I would. The Ascorbyl Glucoside 12% solution has managed to do in less than 10 days what other products (or combinations of products) could not do after three months of use. I has brightened and tightened my skin and cleared up and balanced my 45 year old combination skin. I wear it under foundation during the day and it is slightly tacky, so I recommend putting on a thin layer and letting it absorb completely before applying foundation if you plan to wear it under makeup. I know that The Ordinary has said that this is not as powerful as their other Vitamin C formulations, but it is gentle, yet effective which is perfect since I also use Retinol. I am fan for life! I wanted to try a vitamin C product and chose this one, mainly due to price. I'm very fair, so I do not have hyperpigmentation, but I wanted to boost my sunscreen and see what a vitamin C product would do to improve the texture of my skin. It took a while, but about halfway through the product, I noticed that my skin looks bright and glowing. I purchased another vitamin C product from TO, so I will see which one works better for me. I use this in the morning under sunscreen. One drawback, which I have corrected by using less of this serum, is that it has a tendency to foam up and pill under my mineral sunscreen. It works just fine with my chemical sunscreen. Overall, I am happy with the quality, stability and price of this product.
