I started using this product about two weeks ago and let me tell you this is the key for clearing hormonal acne!!! I have been trying products for months and nothing helped. Two weeks and it made such a difference my acne decreased and this faded my hyperpigmentation like wow. Try it!!

Becca10 months ago

I've been using this for about 2 years now and while I still get a pimple here and there I no longer get any big break outs. I forgot to order the azelaic acid last time I ran out and for the 2 weeks I procrastinated getting it I had massive breakouts on my forehead that went away when I restarted my use. This definitely helps me control my acne!

I’ve been using this to lighten my sun damage/hyper pigmentation and the results speak for themselves. It’s also made my pores smaller. And it doesn’t dry my skin out. Love it.

Bought a few months ago but finally worked it into my routine. Happy with the feel but unfortunately it crumbles and piles up underneath my The Ordinary moisturiser. And I can't use it under my foundation either for the same reason. I'll have to use it longer to see the results but I don't think I'll buy it again due to the crumbling.

Big fan of the product, I was using it along my usual routine of niacinamide and zinc and retinol on alternative nights. Introduced it as once a week and build it up to 2-3 times max (more often doesn't seem to make a difference - if anything it becomes too irritating). At first I wasn't sure if it was doing much... Until I ran out - which was very fast with the 30ml size. Suddenly my hormonal acne started taking forever to get rid off, so I immediately bought the 100ml version :D The only thing I dislike is how little product there is in the 30ml version and that I had to go at great lengths to get everything out of the tube. Just buy the bigger size, the small one isn't worth it.

It does not work. I've been using mine since start of the year very consistently. It only brightens new hyperpigmentation. Any old hyperpigmentation is completely unaffected. Waste of £27.

I have been using this for a week in the day time. It has made a significant difference in just one week.\nAcne scars are less red and have faded.

I dont usually do reviews but felt I had to with this product as I am getting such a good result.I have noticed over the last year redness and bumps on my face which I beleive are roseacea.Havent been to a GP as yet but thought I would try The Ordninary.I have been using it day and night together with my usual liz earle cleanse, tone and superskin moisturiser which I have used for years. The redness and bumps have started to disappear and my skin is smoother.Ive included a couple of photos.I dont have make up one in either photo, just straightened my hair in latest photo.

I’ve used the ordinary skincare for a year now and it has totally changed my skin. It took some time and patience but trust me, it’s worth the wait. I have combo skin with hormonal break outs (on my jaws and chin). I used to have multiple and sometimes painfull pimples (like 4-5) when I was having my period but these products have totally changed that. My routine: aha+bha serum twice a week. Every morning: niacinamide and in the evening: glycolic acid toner -> niacinamide+zinc -> azelaic acid -> retinoid 1% in squalane mixed with a few drops of 100% rosehip seed oil. Love love love it! And so affordable. I made pictures before starting and after a year and the results are amazing.

This stuff works amazing. I have hormonal acne and normally start breaking out a week before my period. Well this last period it got really bad and never went away. So I came across this stuff on a YouTube video by Drs and wanted to try it out. The pictures are from December 11 to January .

I've been using this for a couple weeks and notice the redness that's always present in my cheeks has decreased a lot. My only issue with this prodcut is I have trouble with it not pilling and not sure at the best way to apply to prevent this from doing so. I do apply after serums and before mositurizer, and I give it a little bit of time after appling the serums before using. I've tried rubbing in as well as gently patting. Any advice on how to properly apply would be welcomed as even though this does work wonders I feel like I also am wasting some of the product and not getting the full benefit.

I think the Ordinary reformulated this product without identifying any change. I had been using this for years and it worked really well for my sensitive skin. In Dec of last year, I bought a big tube from the Ordinary shop and started getting rashes. It didn’t occur to me it could be this product because I’d been using it for years. I bought subsequent tubes. I’ve been around the houses for months to doctors trying to work out what was irritating my skin and just now learned it was reformulated at that time my rashes started. Deciem, you have a responsibility to flag reformulations. Also the full ingredient lists don’t appear on your site, Gutted this has caused so much misery for so long.

I've been using this around twice a day for 6 weeks now and am very happy with the results. I use salicylic acid cleanser in the morning and apply a pea sized amount of this azelaic acid cream over my forehead, lower cheeks and chin (completing avoiding the eye area). I then leave it a few minutes and apply a lightweight moisturiser and suncream. In in the evening I use an oil cleanser, AZ, and a mild retinol with moisturiser. I sometimes apply a small amount directly to spots during the day too if I'm at home. New spots tend to be minimised within hours, and existing ones dry out and shrink within a day or two. I use this to manage mild acne and to mattify my skin. I did find that when I used it too close to my eyes, I noticed the skin under my eyes dried out - so now I am careful not to go too high and the skin seems to be recovering.

Before I got to azelaic acid, I literally tried everything against my persistent acne and I mean EVERYTHING, from drug products to atologist prescriptions. This is literally the only thing that’s ever consistently worked. I’ve been using it for several years now and even when I get the occasional breakout these days, it’s gotten a lot more manageable and the azelaic acid will get rid of redness and hyperpigmentation overnight (literally, it’s like magic). Unlike your salicylic acids etc it’s also much less drying and aggressive, so should be fine for people with dry or sensitive skin. I’ve also started using it for my bacne and while it’s slower going, it’s starting to fade the hyperpigmentated scars. I’ve been recommending it to everyone I know who’s struggling with breakouts, congestion and hyperpigmentation and will continue to do so. Love it!

I bought the 30mL bottle after seeing a video by a atologist recommending the product. I’ve tried so many acne creams that have dried out my skin and never seemed to actually clear my acne. Started using this product in the mornings after cleansing (I also use a hyaluronic acid serum at night). It is fairly thick but still spreads evenly and quickly absorbs into the skin. I hate when products leave a film and I can still feel them on my face, but this product has a soft matte finish that I absolutely love and can easily apply moisturizer/sunscreen on top of.\r\n\r\nI have never noticed results from any acne products like this. Within a week of consistent use, my skin started clearing up and my acne scars started fading. My skin texture has also improved and become less splotchy. I have almost finished my first bottle and will soon be investing in the 100mL bottle.

I have been using the Azelaic Acid suspension for almost a year now along with Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%. I have seen a great improvement on my skin! I used to have sort of like a grainy texturized skin due to my hormonal acne but now it feels softer and smoother. I have less visible age spots too. The Azelaic Acid has performed way beyond my expectations. The combination of both products really helped with my skin problems. I see visible results in just a few weeks of use. I highly recommend the Azelaic Acid + any Vitamin C products from the Ordinary. DECIEM Response: Thank you so much for your kind words! If you wish to incorporate multiple Vitamin C's, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids into your skincare regimen, we suggest using them on alternate evenings and waiting until your skin has adjusted to one before introducing another.

PLEASE Make a non drying formula!!! Though this has improve some pigmentation and was great for hormonal acne, there are some major setbacks to this formula. I have combination skin yet find this formula very drying even on my oily areas. This product is incredibly hard to spread on your skin and takes a great deal of product! You have to use a moisturizer after it, which is annoying when you have a lengthy regimen as it is. Not only do you have to use moisturizer over it, but it's best to wait 10-15 minutes so your skin absorbs it before you add a moisturizer on top. Also you must use a primer after using this product if you are going to wear makeup. I would love to re-purchase this if the formula changes or if Ordinary offers it in an emulsion or solution. I was hoping this would work as well as GIGI Bioplasma Azelaic Cream because it runs for $35 When ordinary is under $8!

I think this is my favorite product, though I have geeked out hard on this brand and love many of your products. My atologist said my skin has never looked this good and I'm only knocking off a star because I use this product twice a day and think a larger size is necessary. Trying to be good to the environment and buying smaller bottles more frequently feels like it could improve...fingers crossed you can start offering larger than 30ml options (or that you start a bottle return program!). Thanks for getting my skin in shape without robbing me blind <3 DECIEM Response: We're so happy to hear that you are loving The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%. We appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention about the size of the product. We will pass your feedback along to the appropriate department. I use the product before bed because a.m I use niacinamid, but the niacinamid makes my skin so glowy. I’d like to exchange the solutions according to that Azelaic acid gives my skin mat effect. So my question is: is it important to use sun protection after is used Azelaic acid or can I use it on its own? (I don’t want to use more products just if it’s a must have step :) ) DECIEM Response: Unfortunately, we are not able to approve this review as it is not a review of the product. You may wish to apply the Nicinamide first followed by the Azelaic Acid then the sun protection product if you were to use them in the AM. As they are both compatible with each other. If you use the Azelaic Acid in the PM no sunscreen would be needed. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our team via DECIEM.com/contact with any further questions or concerns you may have. ❤

I've been loving this product, it's really helped my skin texture even out, albiet with some mild tingling on application. I'm considering switching this application into a morning routine instead of night, since the application and finish is quite light on the skin, and wondering if this can be used in combination with alpha arbutin 2% and also Vit C 23% suspension? Been using it for three weeks and love it.. Wish I took a photo before to compare as it's harder to judge the effectiveness on my dark spots but my skin just seems to be much smoother in texture and my acne scarring! I use this at night only and pair with a toner, salicylic acid for spots, hyaluronic acid, natural moisturizing factors, and sometimes either plant derived squaline and/or rosehip oil if I feel dry. Totally agree with other reviewers, would love this in a bigger tube as I feel like I've used 80% of the bottle in three weeks. It soaks in super fast and is a dry feeling spread which makes me need more at every application - think about two pea sizes is a normal use for me. My new trick however is to use a facial spray prior to application which helps the formula cover more of my face. I let it sit for a while longer than putting it straight on dry skin however, since it's wet.

I am loving everything I bought from The Ordinary line including this. I don't know what exactly is working for me but my routine so far is:AM: Niacinamide & Zinc, Azelaic Acid 10%, Matrixyl 10%PM: Niacinamide & Zinc, Retinol 2% Emulsion, Matrixyl 10%, Rose Hip Seed oilI alternate my PM routine with L-Ascorbic powder and Alpha Lipoic Acid 5% ( no Niacinamide w/L-Ascorbic powder and no Retinol 2% w/Alpha Lipoic acid )Once a week I use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% peeling solution for 10 minutesI have fair, combination skin that is very prone to breakouts, and semi-sensitive. I have not had any adverse reactions with what I'm using, and my skin is loving it. Some people said the Azelaic Acid 10% pills under makeup. I noticed that the first time I used it and switched to rubbing it between my fingers first, then patting in all over my face, and no more pilling! I love this line of skin care :)

i love it. i always tried to find something that would work for my combination acne prone skin with a lot of blackheads. basically the whole ordinary line is great and i love it i tried a lot of products now and want to try everything so i'm looking forward to it. \n so azelaic acid is amazing for acne scars. i didn't know that azelaic acid even exists (same with a lot of products here) but i'm glad i tried it it's a bit tingly but i love tingling on my face and i try a lot of acids. this one is one of my favorites. can't wait to see more products from you \n it's a bomb with niacinamide which is one of my favorites too \n\n Good luck Deciem and Ordinary. You are worth even more attention and praise \n\n p.s everything is super affordable since i'm a student it's important for me. great price+awesome quality=the ordinary and a beautiful skin
