The Ordinary Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F 30ml

There are several reviews asking the same question is this ATIP or THD? We do our research and have learned that while the coding says they are the same, they are in fact chemically not the same! Staff say they spoke to the chemists and they say it’s the same because that’s what it’s been coded as, which isn’t accurate. We would like a real answer as to what chemical this Vit C really is. The research matters. The difference matters.

Kindly confirm if the main active ingredient is Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (as listed on the product's name) or Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (as lited on the ingredients list), as the two are definitely NOT the same ingredients, and in fact, two different ingredients.

I absolutely love this serum! \n\n I use this in the evening and apply it immediately after I wash my face before toners to allow direct absorption (I put about 5 drops in my hand and pat into my face). It’s so gentle and absorbs so quickly that sometimes I wonder if I’ve put on enough, so don’t be fooled because you have. Every time I use it, the next day, I get so many compliments on my skin - that it’s glowing, it looks open, etc. It’s wonderful!\n\n For the record, I have dry, dehydrated skin. I have been using this product for over a year now and I love it. It makes my skin feel healthier, not greasy, it looks glowy which is very nice. I am using it to prevent age marks, so far I don't really notice more of them, but can't say it works to reverse them or anything like that. In general, a very good experience with the product. It lasts for a while, I use one drop for each cheek and one drop of my forehead. There is enough product with that to go down to my beck. I just wish there was a bigger version. It mixes well with the buffet and with my moisturizer, but it does not mix well with Hyaluronic Acid 2% +B5, it peels.

I cannot say enough glowing things about this product! I started using on recommendation of one of the DECIEM staffers based on my skincare needs and wanting a Vitamin C product. This product absorbs very nicely and quickly - doesn't feel oily at all. On warm, humid days, I could actually get away with just this as a moisturizer (but don't since I put on sunscreen afterwards). A little goes a long way. Whenever I put it on, I can see my skin instantly brighten and I look a decade younger. I am a lifelong fan on this product, and hope it never goes away!

I previously used a 20% vitamin C formula that really dried out and irritated my skin, causing flaking. This has not done that. I do notice it might be slightly drying, but applying oil or moisturizer amply takes care of that. It doesn't sting or burn. It absorbs extremely quickly. I like the fact that it doesn't conflict with other active ingredients, so I don't need to worry about what I use it with. I bought it as part of my continuing attack on stubborn sun spots, and it does seem to be helping the fading process along with alpha arbutin, niacinamide, and azelaic acid.

A game changer for me. Consistency of use is key to seeing results with Vitamin C and I just couldn't do it when I was using the Vitamin C Suspension 23%...just too uncomfortable to use and took forever to absorb. This Vitamin F product proved to be a revelation: no irritation or burning sensation and is absorded quickly and completely by my skin. It is more expensive than the other products in the line but the resulting glowing and smooth skin make it all worth it. (I am a woman in my early 50s with normal to dry skin and I live in a cold climate.)

I tried this vitamin c over a year ago and loved it. I moved on to try and find other products which may be better but boy was I disappointed. The lightweight texture of this quickly absorbing oil based formula is simply amazing, gives the skin a wonderful glow and protects from drying especially in the winter, but is NOT oily in the slightest and does not clog pores etc. Among the best of the best, only improvement would be if it had vitamin E but I know that might upset the balance the product has now. I’ll just suffice to adding vitamin E on top and be grateful for this product.

I bought this a month ago and started using it on alternate nights. Ever since then, I started to have continuous acne, bumps one after another. I stopped for a few days, started using it again, and in the next 2 days, small and big bumps slowly surfaced again. \r\n\r\nI have dry to combination skin and hyperpigmentation problem, but rarely have acne and pimples, this is the first time I am encountering this. I am also no stranger to oil as I have been using facial oils for years. \r\n\r\nSeems like in other reviews, those that have dry to combination skin encountered the same problem. \r\n\r\nHave to put away this item now.

The product formula is excellent, and I am otherwise very satisfied. However, I feel it's important to report a consistent packaging flaw.\n\nI purchased multiple units of this item and had them in storage. Before I could even open them, I observed yellowish discoloration on the exterior of their boxes. Upon inspection, I found that every unit had leaked because the lids were not fully tightened. This appears to be an isolated issue for this specific product, as my other items with identical packaging were securely sealed.\n\nThis review is intended as a helpful advisory for future buyers. I strongly recommend you check that the lid is completely closed upon receipt to prevent product leakage.

At first I didn't really like this product (it made me break out a bit), but I think that was because I didn't introduce it gradually over time. A few months later I decided to try it again and used it every 3 days for about a month, then every other day, and now I just started using it every day. I have sensitive, combination skin and this has made my skin very soft and smooth - I was actually a little surprised by how noticeable the results were. I was worried that it would be too oily for me since it's an oil-based serum but it's been fine, and I actually think it helps moisturize. I apply it after cleansing and before my sunscreen.

It illuminates the face, but I think it does not fully fulfill its function, its texture is very oily, almost bordering on disgusting. It didn't please me at all.\n\nAt least it dries quickly.

I've wanted to incorporate vit c and retinol into my regime for a long time but have struggled with serious face dryness for years since breastfeeding (it just sucked ALL the moisture out of me). Every time I tried to add something I would immediately see flakes again and have to stop even with layering oils on top. I read that this type of vit c was actually one of the best absorbed so I gave it a try and WOW. I honestly can't say enough about it. My face felt softer the next day, brighter, no signs of dryness. I've been using it for a few months now and have even been able to start adding retinol in (slowly) which is amazing. Yes, there is a slight scent (I wouldn't say bad but not pleasant) to it when you bring it to your face but it doesn't last beyond that and your face doesn't smell after. If you're thinking about adding a vit c this one is IT.

I had started using this in 2020 and stopped after trying other products. After trying to figure out what was missing from my routine I added this product back to my morning routine in 2024 and I love it even more than the first time.\n\nThe smell is not great, however, the results far outweigh this. I like to warm a little of this product in my hand and than pat into skin. I found that doing this helps me not to apply to much of the product which does have an oil content and so my acne prone sensitive skin does not come away clogged or irritated.\n\nWhen first starting this product there was a very mild purge period but my skin quickly adjusted and now loves this product. Acne scars have diminished, skin is plumper and over all more hydrated..

the name of the product says ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate but the inci says tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. they are two different chemicals according to research right? i have been using this product but since i live by the sea, it tends to get humid and i can only get away with using oil based products during winter/dryer months.i have heard great things about tetrahexyldecyl and i want to confirm what is actually used in this product.

I took this product as I read good reviews about it but is to oily for me and takes ages to get into the skin . I even ordered 2 bottles . Now I am sorry for it. Can’t use it in the morning at all as I will have to apply make up after 30 minutes . I have extremely acne prone skin, and as a result, was on Retin-A for a short period. I was a bit apprehensive to try this product considering the potential chemical interaction. However, I was already considering discontinuing the Retin-A and decided to make the order. (I discontinued my Retin-A use some weeks prior to ordering and receiving my The Original products). I do not regret my decision! I use the Solution 20% as often as I can. My face feels so soft and incredible. Following application, it gives a glowy, fresh-faced, dewy (not sweaty) effect. It has absolutely not contributed to any additional acne and has evened out anything that has come about on my face. I would 10/10 recommend! This stuff is the bomb.com.

I bought this product couple of weeks ago, because my skin concern is dullness and uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, i am using it alternate day at the moment, but it does not penetrate into the skin very well, it makes me look greasy and heavy on my face.\r\nOne of my routine is, after i cleanse my face, i am using Ordinary Hylauronic acid, then Ordinary Niacinamide, then this product very few drops though. when i apply this, it doesnt penetrate and then i had to massage atelast for couple of minutes.\r\nThen again it needs moisturiser on the top, this moisturiser alos will take couple of minutes to get absorbed\r\n\r\nI am really not sure, whether if this is the right layering, also i haven't noticed any visible changes on my skin.\r\n\r\n@DECEIM, can you please help me what's going wrong here,\r\nOn vitamin c guide, it says that it abosrbs within 5seconds, but i can't feel that

I bought this product a few weeks ago, and while I have noticed that my dark spots are slightly faded now due to using (and not even everyday use), my face instantly flushes and becomes warm to the touch for a while afterward using this serum. I feel like I've also been breaking out more and I don't know if this serum is to blame or if the sunscreen I use is. Either way, I think it's time to try another form of vitamin C, or quit using it altogether.

I think the product is interesting, but I believe the formulation is way too oily for my face. I never had acne, only small whiteheads here and there. I have the following routine: glycolic acid toning solution + this serum + natural moisturizing factors. Unfortunately I had an acne outbreak in the T-Zone, mainly on my forehead. I stopped using the product for a few days, and then decided to use it again and the same thing happened. Unfortunately it seems that my skin does not accept the product very well.
