The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser 50ml

I’m 52 and this is THE BEST cleanser I have ever used!!!\nThere’s something very satisfying about feeling the product suddenly turn to oil after rubbing between your palms, and unlike most other cleansers there’s no faffing around and getting bubbles in your eyes and up your nose, you can simply rub it on in front of the mirror and see that you’re covering every nook and cranny, then remove with warm water, although I remove it by first pressing a hot flannel on my face, rinsing it in warm water and wiping it off. My skin feels so refreshed that I look forward to using it when I wake up, and before bed. The pic is from as use in the morning before applying serums, I’m so proud of my skin now ❤️

First time buyer here and I've been using the product for 4 days now. So far I love it and feels great on my skin. However, I receive barely any product in the packaging. Instead of 50ml it seems that I only receive roughly 20ml. I'm not sure if other customers are facing the same issue. I just feel disappointed as it feels like they've mislead me. If I'm purchasing a 50ml product, I expect to receive 50ml product. Anyway, first photo and second photo are 4 days apart.

I used to have extremely dry skin, but since switching to this product my skin is more balanced than ever! I can even tolerate a mild retinol! I also have sensitive skin and I can use this twice daily with no problem. This has become essential in my skincare routine. My only critique is that you have to use a good amount to wash your whole face. Make sure your face isn't wet before you apply and that you rinse after. If your face is wet initially it will completely wash away without cleaning your skin. Other than that, I'm totally in love!

hmm, have to admit that didnt understand how to use it at the beggining. Product must be massaged into the sking long enough to change from cream into oil. But when it changes omg that is when magic happens. Cleanses so good, as never any product before. washing off, well that you must learn too, clue is to use right ammont of cleanser so it cleans vell and wash off completly. Overall great product , cleansing and moisturising the same time

I love this cleanser. It doesn't dry my (dry) skin out, but doesn't clog it either. I can appreciate some people are having reactions to it, but I haven't found that at all. I have sensitive skin that can flare up and turn red with the wrong product. But with this cleanser there's no reaction. I highly recommend it, especially for the price point.

Amazing cleanser, but I absolutely hate the container. So much so that I stopped buying the product.

Two things changed my results when using this cleanser. \r\n1. I’m not an instruction reader so I was wetting my face before applying. Once I realized you’re not suppose to do that, I saw great results! I don’t warm it up in my hands first though, I put it directly on my face and then rub until I feel it get more slippery. \r\n2. The second change I made was at first I was just rinsing it off with water and it was just ok. However, once I started wiping it off with a wet washcloth WOW. The texture of my skin has changed with only that one change. I use to have very fine bumpy acne on my face and that has almost all gone away.

Overall, I would like to put these highlights:\n✔ The product is easy to use, but the consumption is not insignificant;\n✔ Effectively cleanses the skin, pores, removes any makeup;\n✔ Does not dry the skin, and even on the contrary, moisturizes;\n✔ Does not flow into the eyes, does not leave a film, does not provoke rashes.

Forgot my normal cleanser on a recent trip and just happened to randomly buy this from a Diciem shop near my hotel. For context, I have slightly dry skin that can be sensitive and prone to breakouts and I’m in my 40’s. So far this cleanser has not irritated my skin and it’s the first oil cleanser I’ve used that doesn’t leave an oily film after rinsing. It removed my makeup really well and didn’t have to double cleanse. Skin felt hydrated after and not stripped at all.

I've got super oily skin that's prone to breakouts. So I've never used an oil-based cleanser, ever. But I thought I'd try this since I've had really good experiences with all the other products I've tried from this company. What can I say, it works! This, along with the Hyaluronic, Niacinamide, AHA, BHA and moisturiser have changed my skin. When I turned 40, it turned into a hormonal mess. My skin is a lot smoother, has not broken out as much, other products spread more easily. When I'm feeling lazy, I'll put it on before a shower and then let the warm shower wash it off. I now notice the difference when I put on a soap cleanser - it strips my skin. Still can't believe I'm raving about an oil-based cleanser!

I love this stuff. I started using it a little over a year ago because I have combination skin that tends to get dry in the winter. I would get scaly dry patches around my mouth. The squalene cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean without drying it out - no more weird scaly patches! I use this every morning to wash my face and a gentle soap cleanser at night and it's the perfect balance. One thing I will mention is that I stop using this cleanser in the late summer and switch to using soap twice a day because my skin tends to be oilier that time of year.

I have been using this cleanser for years now but love trying new or interesting products. I have tried the two new cleansers and think they are ok but the Squalane cleanser is one of a kind. It starts off (on dry skin) thick and creamy and after massaging, turns into a light oil that rinses off nicely. I can easily use it on my eyes without any irritation. Love that is is fragrance free, leaves my skin hydrated and happy. It is not like any other balm I have tried. Good as a first cleanser or alone. I always have this on hand. I am in my 50s with normal to dry skin and do not wear a lot of make-up.

Absolutely love this product! I wear full coverage foundation (Dior forever undercover 24hr) plus I set with loose powder. As long as you start off with no water and wait for this to slick into an oil you will see great results. After you feel that slip of the oil and work it in then you can go in with water to rinse it off. Its just a matter of using it properly. Makeup days I use this then another foaming cleanser, but on non makeup days I only use this. I dont feel greasy after at all. I have combo skin and somedays I only use this at night depending on if my skin is less dry. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who has oily skin as a stand alone cleanser, but to remove face makeup (not eye) it works so well and doesn't strip your skin. I like this better than a traditional oil cleanser because it doesn't slip through your fingers and is less oily feeling afterwards.

This is definitely a very gentle cleanser, It has a very calming effect on the skin, I do feel however that I need to use it twice in order to fully remove my make up- and i wear very little make up in the first place. My other main criticism is, although it very reasonably priced, the size of the bottle is very small (for a cleanser.) I almost finished my first bottle within about ten days of use. MUCH prefer this cleanser over the NIOD LVCE (and whilst the LVCE is thorough it has packaging problems-is a lot more pricey-and feels like it needs a cleanse post makeup removal, it doesn't rinse off cleanly).\n\n This balm to oil cleanser needs only a little to go a long way, and since starting using this four nights ago I rinse using a muslin cloth using warm water to take it all off including eye makeup. \n\n My face and eyes are spotless, don't feel dry, and skin looks glowy. For the price I don't think you can beat it and I've used loads of things including the ultra pricey Eve Lom.\n\n The packaging is also nice and slimline for travel so doesn't take up much space like a giant bottle of Micellar water that I also felt like I still needed to rinse off afterwards.\n\n For £5.50 I'll be ordering more before word gets out and it's out of stock.

I absolutely love this cleanser! I only use it to remove makeup. And wow what a difference it makes! My stubborn makeup comes off so easily. I leave this on my dry/unwashed face for one minute before gently rubbing the product in. It's a bit tough to work in in the beginning and then as soon as it melts in it becomes sort of like an oil. I wash it off with lukewarm water and use a microfibre facial towel to remove the residue. I then go in with my everyday cleanser from la roche-posay and foreo Luna to remove any remaining makeup! I also use this on days I apply a heavy layer of sunscreen. Sometimes sunscreen is really difficult to wash off, this product is really great for breaking sunscreen down! I usually purchase the larger 150 ml size product. It takes forever to use up since a little goes a long way! I just repurchased it and will continue to do so!

I have used this product for nearly a year and purchase it in the larger size. I pray I’m never without. It easily removes a days worth of makeup, including mascara, etc., without drying or leaving a film. I always follow with a toner. The result is a fresh face that is ready to soak in any nighttime routine. I’m a over fifty “high maintenance” (lol) female, only know that this cleanser would be perfect for any age. This cleanser doesn’t require a lot of tugging and manipulating of the skin so does not add to the aging and damaging of the skin, something we all should be cognizant of. You don’t even have to wet your face to start - great at the end of the day because I’m beat and hate taking makeup off! Just rub your hands and Go! I really love this cleanser. Leaves my skin super soft and has helped aid in smoothing out the texture of my skin. I have current acne and get hormonal acne but this has helped keep it at bay. I'm giving it 8 stars only because while I understand it is a small bottle, however, it only came about 1/3 filled with product. I've been trying to stretch the bottle to make it 2 weeks. I love this stuff. It took a bit to realize that you really don't need a ton. It's an oil, so it really spreads. It takes everything off my face, and quickly too. I rub it between my hands, some days it's faster than others until they get slick, but hey, no big... I found myself starting to use more, then dialed it back. More doesn't always mean better, it just means you go through your bottle faster for no additional benefit. My husband even likes it, not that he'd admit it. My skin never had a freak out when I changed cleansers, but I've just ordered two more because this has become my go to. It's harder to use in the shower, but I had a d-uh moment, and now just put it in before I go in... Really love this stuff, totally recommend to all my friends. The best oil cleanser I have ever used. I love how simple it is, no fragrance and melts all makeup perfectly. Before I used Korean oil cleanser but it had quite strong fragrance that irritated while taking my eye makeup off. Plus it was so runny, while TO cleanser is perfectly thick enough for comfy use. Just like I noticed in other reviews, the tube is too small. I finish it so quickly, I guess next time I have to order bunch of them in advance, but trying to be environmentally conscious, too much packaging. I kinda understand it, coz if they release bigger packages, price of single product will be quite high, compared with other To products. This is absolutely brilliant. It removes every last bit of make-up whilst leaving the skin soft and comfortable. And it's so much easier to use (and therefore better in my opinion) even than the LVCE. Good work Deciem! My only complaint is that the tube seemed somewhat empty. I couldn't see inside, but it didn't last very long even though I was very sparing with product. 50ml is a good travel size (if properly full) but I'd like to be able to buy a much bigger tube. This is a very gentle (yet effective) cleanser, that starts out as a lotion like texture and turns to liquid once you begin to work it into your skin. Sure, it’s squalane based, but it never feels oily or filmy like many balm cleansers. It rinses clean with warm water. My skin feels so... what’s the word... PLUSH! I used to double cleanse with a balm and follow with a foaming cleanser, but as long as this is available I will never go back to that. The squalane cleanser is effective at removing eye makeup, but since this is a smaller tube, I use eye makeup remover pads before going in with this cleanser. I have VERY dry skin and this has alleviated my dry patches and redness entirely. My skin is so happy, thank you for this product! The Ordinary is such a great line of skincare, so I was really looking forward to the facial cleanser and of course, I was not disappointed! The cleanser did not irritate my very sensitive eyes at all. I didn’t even use a cloth and the cleanser got every last bit of makeup off my face, even mascara. Super easy, super quick. Left my face feeling soft but not in a film-covered way. Just soft and well taken care of. I was hesitant to purchase this product but I finally took the plunge! There was a little bit of a learning curve for me because more doesn't equal better with this product. Literally, a little dab will do you! I warm it up between my palms and it goes on so super smooth and buttery. I like to massage my face each time I use this (twice daily) because it doesn't dry down and disappear like many cleansers do. So it makes it perfect for giving your face the attention we sometimes don't give it! It washes off easily and leaves my skin super clean and moisturized! In the AM, it is my only cleanser. At night, it is my first cleanser and pairs well with the NIOD Sanskrit Saponins facial wash. I am repurchasing now! Thank you for this amazing product!
